Walk-In Showers

Custom tiled walk-in showers for condos and shore homes: frameless glass, built-in benches and niches, and entries low enough to walk straight in.

The upgrade owners ask for most

A walk-in shower is the single change that makes a bathroom feel new. It opens the room up, it is easier to clean than a tub, and it is easier to use at any age. We build them in high-rise condos and shore homes across Atlantic County, usually as part of a bathroom remodel or a tub-to-shower conversion.

Walk-in shower options

  • Glass. A single fixed panel with no door, a hinged door, or a full frameless enclosure.
  • Entry. A low curb, or a curbless entry where the floor slopes to the drain and you walk straight in.
  • Seating. A built-in tiled bench or a fold-down seat.
  • Storage. Tiled niches sized for real bottles, set where you can reach them.
  • Fixtures. Rain heads, handheld showers on a slide bar, and thermostatic valves that hold the temperature.
  • Tile. Marble, large-format porcelain, herringbone or mosaic floors that grip when wet.

Walk-in showers for seniors

For owners planning to stay in their home or condo for years, we design the shower to be safe from the start: a curbless or low entry, a bench, grab bars mounted into solid blocking, a handheld shower within reach of the seat, and slip-resistant tile. Done well, none of it looks clinical.

Sizing a walk-in shower

A standard 5-foot tub alcove converts into a comfortable walk-in shower. Larger bathrooms can take a longer shower with a bench at one end and a fixed glass panel with no door. We measure at the walk-through and show you what fits.

Built not to leak

Every walk-in shower we build has a waterproof membrane under the tile on the floor and walls. In a condo, that is what keeps water out of the unit below, and it is why we do not use shortcuts or kit shower walls.

Common questions

How much does a walk-in shower cost?

Most bathroom remodels we quote, including a new walk-in shower, fall between $15,000 and $35,000, depending on size, tile, glass and whether plumbing moves. A free walk-through gets you a written number.

Can a walk-in shower have no door?

Yes. A fixed glass panel with an open end works well in most bathrooms with enough length, and there is no door to clean or swing.

Can you build a curbless shower in a condo?

Often, yes. It depends on the floor and where the drain runs through the slab. We check both at the walk-through before designing the shower.

Can you add a bench or seat?

Yes. We build tiled benches into the shower or install fold-down seats, along with grab bars and a handheld shower.

How long does it take?

As part of a bathroom remodel, most bathrooms take 2 to 4 weeks on site once the tile, vanity and glass are ordered.
