A Margate kitchen has to cook for a crowd
From the beach blocks to the bay side, Margate homes are built for full summers: family dinners, guests coming and going, and everyone standing around the island. Then many of those houses sit closed for part of the year. A Margate kitchen remodel has to handle both.
That shapes what we recommend: an island with seating where the layout allows it, tall pantry storage for summer supplies, a refrigerator and range sized for a full house, and finishes that hold up to salt air and a cold, closed-up winter.
Recent work in Margate
We recently remodeled a Margate home’s kitchen, bathroom and flooring. The kitchen got white cabinets, granite countertops and Kohler fixtures, and the new floors tied the kitchen into the rest of the house.

Choosing materials for a Margate shore house
Particleboard cabinets swell and pit hardware corrodes near the ocean. We steer Margate clients toward plywood-box cabinets, quartz or granite counters, porcelain tile and stainless or coated hardware. We size the range hood properly and duct it outside, which matters in a kitchen that runs all day in July.

Working back from Memorial Day
Most Margate owners have a date the house needs to be ready. Tell Jim that date at the walk-through and we order cabinets and counters and schedule the work backward from it. Fall and winter starts give the most room. For condo and beach-block buildings, we also clear association approvals and insurance certificates up front. More on our work in Margate.
“Boardwalk renovations is amazing. They did my kitchen and came in on budget and on time! Results exceeded my expectations. Just beautiful!!”
Ronald H. · Google reviewCommon questions
How much does a kitchen remodel cost in Margate, NJ?
Most kitchen remodels we quote fall between $25,000 and $100,000, depending on size, layout changes, cabinet line and countertop material. A free walk-through gets you a written number for your kitchen.
When should I start a Margate kitchen remodel to be done by summer?
Fall or winter. Plan on 6 to 8 weeks of on-site work once cabinets and counters arrive, plus cabinet lead time before work starts. Tell Jim your opening date and we schedule backward from it.
Granite or quartz for a Margate kitchen?
Both hold up well near the beach. Granite is natural stone with more variation; quartz is engineered and needs no sealing. We used granite in a recent Margate kitchen, and we can show you both at the walk-through.
Do I need a permit to remodel my kitchen in Margate?
Replacing cabinets and counters in the same layout often does not need one. Moving plumbing, adding circuits or changing walls does. We tell you what needs a permit through Margate City’s construction office and handle the process.
Does a flood zone affect my Margate kitchen remodel?
It can. Much of Margate sits in a FEMA flood zone. If a renovation’s cost reaches 50% of the home’s market value, FEMA’s substantial improvement rule can require bringing the whole house up to current flood standards, including elevation. A single kitchen rarely reaches that line, but whole-home projects can.
Can you remodel my Margate kitchen while I’m away?
Yes. Many Margate owners are not here during the off-season. Jim sends photo and video updates and can walk you through the job on FaceTime.
